The Talent Acquisition Coordinator is a new role with Covanta’s HR | Talent Acquisition team to support Covanta's talent acquisition initiatives and recruiting operations.

Based at our Morristown corporate office, you will be part of a team of passionate and collaborative professionals responsible for a variety of talent acquisition activities to hire high potential talent at various Covanta locations and facilities.

Your role will be key to providing an efficient, effective and positive experience to all stakeholders during the different stages of the talent acquisition process. Our high volume, fast paced, high-touch environment will provide you with many opportunities to make a visible impact and contribute to strategic initiatives. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

Interview Scheduling and Coordination

  • Be the point of contact for Interviews 
  • Schedule high volume of job interviews, including travel/ hotel arrangements 
  • Host candidates when onsite and promptly iron out any late stage changes
  • Maintain Candidate Interview status report

Job Requisition & RMS / ATS related

  • Post jobs on various job boards
  • Perform Candidate & Requisition management
  • Respond to general applicant inquiries
  • Provide Level 1 helpdesk support and system admin tasks 
  • Extract, audit, compile and present reports and presentations

Offer to Onboarding

  • Initiate pre-hire checks including background checks, physicals and drug screens
  • Monitor progress & review results of pre-hire checks
  • Complete pre-hire documentation & coordinate onboarding 
  • Deliver New Hire's Day 1 paperwork and Orientation
  • Maintain New Hire status report

Support Recruiting Activities

  • Internal and external career events
  • Social media sites like LinkedIn, Glassdoor and Indeed
  • Marketing campaigns & collaterals
  • Special projects and research  

Procurement, Logistics & AP Support

  • Compile and process invoices, vouchers, expenses, etc. 
  • Be the administrative point of contact with vendors
  • Maintain agency / search firm contracts

General administrative tasks & support in other areas, as needed


  • Associates Degree or higher
  • 3 or more years of related experience including experience in a fast paced, enterprise environment
  • Experience with an Applicant Tracking (ATS) / Recruitment Management Systems (RMS). Experience with Peoplefluent/ Peopleclick, Taleo, Brassring, ICIMS, Kenexa or Workday Recruiting will be plus.
  • Prior experience within or interacting frequently with the Talent Acquisition / Recruiting/ Staffing team
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word & Excel. Good working knowledge of MS Power Point
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills
  • Positive attitude with ability and desire to learn, grow and have fun at the same time
