We seek a dedicated and experienced truck driver to operate roll-off trucks, dump trailers and tractor trailers at the Montgomery County Solid Waste Transfer Station in Derwood, MD. This position will involve both on-site driving and over-the-road driving. Primary responsibilities includes the safe and efficient operation of a roll-off truck to various locations in Montgomery County MD as well on-site operations throughout the Transfer Station campus, and the completion of pre-trip inspections and preventative maintenance activities on the equipment. Secondary responsibilities include operating a forklift, loading trailers, assisting local residents with the disposal and drop-off of their trash and recyclable materials, traffic control, checking ID's, resolving customer conflict, disassembling appliances for metal recycling, cleaning the work area and other areas of the Transfer Station campus, and assisting the Shift Supervisor as needed.



  • High School Diploma or GED
  • One (1) years experience operating roll-off trucks or tractor trailers over-the-road
  • Class A CDL, or Class B CDL with ability to secure Class A CDL within six (6) months of hire
  • Must be able to maintain DOT Medical Certificate
  • Clean driving record for the past three (3) years
  • Good mechanical aptitude and the ability to work with hand tools
  • The ability to work outside and in the elements
  • The ability to lift fifty (50) pounds
  • The ability to work days, evenings and weekends
