The Intern, Sales & Marketing position reports directly to the Vice President of the Covanta Environmental Solutions Sales team, but will also support the Sales Directors & National Accounts Directors. This position will be located in the Wallingford, CT office. The candidate will be required to work approx. 30+ hours each week; hours are somewhat flexible depending on candidate's class schedule. The primary function of the role is to support in the creation of Powerpoint presentations for internal purposes and for external customer presentations, customer data analysis and report generation, potential customer and industry research, assisting in the organizational management of cross-selling efforts of the sales team, and other ad hoc reporting requests. The candidate will also be responsible for some administrative duties such as answering telephones, setting up meetings, arranging flight and hotel reservations, and managing the the Wallingford office.


Position Requirements include, but are not limited to:

  • Micosoft Office skills- specifically proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint. Experience with Microsoft Outlook is also preferred.
  • Ability to understand, organize and interpret data
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Some customer service experience is a plus
