We currently seek a dedicated individual who will be responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance and implementing and maintaining environmental management systems and programs at the Covanta Delaware Valley facility owned and operated by Covanta in Chester, Pennsylvania.  

Responsibilities include the review and analysis of continuous emission monitoring systems data, agency report preparation and submittals, environmental permitting support, maintenance of key environmental records and documents (including use of an environmental management information system), residue testing and functioning as the primary liaison with state and local regulatory agencies.

This position involves activities such as: performing environmental compliance assessments, documenting compliance status, making recommendations on corrective actions required to achieve compliance, training on compliance management requirements and client interactions.




The successful candidate must have a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, environmental science, or equivalent field and 3-5 years’ experience in the environmental permitting/compliance field or equivalent experience in similar operations; preferably in air quality compliance.

A working knowledge of Pennsylvania and federal environmental regulations in air, waste, and water is preferred.

The individual must have strong written and oral communication skills, an ability to work cooperatively within the regulatory framework, and strong computer skills including proficiency with MS Office applications.
